Is it possible to produce a schedule showing what family items may be (nested) within a family?

Odd question I know... just an idea i am working out in my head and this might me a tool that could help...

Thanks...

Note: I know it is possible to schedule these items by having them shared... it is more to schedule them as a list of items from each family type... that they are a part of. So I can produce schedules that say this family contains these families within them...

Hope this clears things up before this is reviewed by to many :)

All you can do is this:

In a door schedule, you can show the Field that has the Family Type Parameter, showing which nested family is in use. You cant show "All shared nested families in a family," because they dont have to BE in that family. They can be selected in the project.

So, if you HAVE a family type parameter on them, you can schedule that.

Note, in order to schedule a nested family, the nested family must be set to shared.

Yes... That is a given... and why I posted my second post... to emphasize that...

isn`t the same idea if insteed you filter only the nested items and take care that every nested has a shared param aka 'belongs to..'.
i know it`s a problem if you reuse same nested in more famiies...but if not...

if you use fam type param than what aaron said is the only way.

Yes... I agree with Aaron's thoughts... but it doesn’t quite do what I had hoped... it is intriguing... and still may flow to new ideas and I may still use his idea... I am only building thoughts in my head at the moment so nothing fully practical is being used yet... just looking at tools and seeing what the possibilities and what the tools could do...

I am a sort of dream tool builder :) I like to create new ideas and ways to do things.. This was just one piece in a bigger puzzle
