Linked Models/ Filters and Subcategories

Hi,

I have a model (Project 1) where I've set up filters to distinguish between different wall types.

It seems that there is no way to use them in my host model (project 2, where the above model is linked into)

I was hoping to be able from the host model to switch off/ on different wall types from the linked model as desired without switching off the whole category but it doesnt seem to work

The other idea I had was to create subcategories (in Project 1) for different wall types to be able to switch them off in the host model (Project 2)

It's easy to define subcategories for walls but how to you assign a wall type to that subcategory?

BTW we are using RST 2010.

Any help would be v. much appreciated.

Filters do not work on links in 2010. They do in Revit 2011.

In 2010, you'd need to make specific views with the walls filtered in the Architevctural model, then use the Custom, setting, and set the architect's view in his model to that specific view name.

Otherwise, look into upgrading to 2011 products.
