Importing CAD

I am importing a 3D model of the electrical conduits from my electrical sub, and a 3D model of the plumbing piping from the plumbing sub.

1) Regardless of whether I click wireframe, or shaded, or hidden line, the electrical systems show as wireframe. How can I fix this?

2) Is there an easy way, ala Navisworks, to override and change the color of the entire file so that the plumbing shows up as green and the electrical shows up as light blue?

1 - Not sure you can. Sounds like something to do with an export setting.

2 - Assuming the linked file has layers you can modify colors in visibility graphics for each view... a view template for this might make it easier to change multiple views.

You said CAD - Not Revit.
I think the CAD 3D file is only wireframe unless it is imported into a family.

The subcontractor 3D models are CAD which I am importing into Revit. Plumbing works "correctly", electrical does not and stays wireframe.
