Does anyone know a way to convert .dng to dwg for free.....? I only have Autocad 2000

You cannot open dgn drawing by AutoCAD.
You have to import the dgn drawing to your current drawing:
File - Import,
then slect File Type = Microstation DGN (*.dgn)
BTW, I am using v2011 but this method should work with your version.

No, it wont work in 2000 - she needs someone with Microstation to export to dwg.

FYI: The command is DGNIMPORT, and it wasn't added until AutoCAD 2008.

True. Although, I'm pretty sure AutoCAD Map 2000 could import DGN files using the ._MAPIMPORT command.

By talking about "convert" & jenniferchavez doesn't have microstation, the only way to do the job is to import the dgn drawing to AutoCAD. But I didn't realised the import dgn function was introduced since v2008. :(
