Hi,
One of my work colleagues is having a problem with a drawing when he tries to bind in an architect’s x-ref.
Every time he binds it the x-ref disappears from the drawing altogether, I have tried purge and auditing in the x-ref, then detaching it from the drawing and re-inserting it but know joy. I have also run a purge and audit in the drawing but that doesn’t work either.
I have ended up just wblocking the x-ref inserting it in the drawing as a block.
Does anyone have any other ideas what I could or experienced the same problem and what you did to fix it?
Cheers

Have you tried to purge and audit the xreffed file before inserting and then binding?
Also are there any blocks in the parent file with the same name as the xref?
And finally the obvious, you are not having layer issues by freezing or turning off the the layer of the bound xref?

I have done a purge and audit to the x-ref before attaching into the drawing.
Everything is on its own layer in the xref and all x-refs in the drawing are on the layer ZZ-Xref. The only other x-ref is the drawing boarder and thats fine it binds in ok.
Regards to freezing or turning off layers if you mean layers in the bond drawing there are a few frozen but thats just text layer which arent required from what I can see.
Mmm still none the wiser

Hi,
I'm not sure if it's going to help but I had same problem (the xrefs were overlayed in master drawing). I was able to bind them by first changing xref's type from overlayed to attached in xref manager.
I hope this will help with your problem.

Andrzej

I find that when I have a problem binding any x-ref, the best way so as not to waste too much time is to detach it & insert it in as a block.
