View Full Version : Wall clean-up issue with end-wrapping turned on.

I noticed some of the interior walls on a project are not cleaning up at T intersections. This is a native 2011 project (not upgraded), both walls are the exact same type and height. When both walls are selected only the Length, Area, and Volume property fields are blank. All other properties of both walls are exactly the same.

When I set Wrapping at Ends to be either Exterior or Interior, the wall no longer appears to clean up at the T intersection. Turning off wrapping fixes the issue.

Another user in the office was placing short walls at the ends of the wing walls to clean up the ends, which can be joined to make the graphics look correct, but I'd rather not have to do that all over the place.

Unfortunately I cannot replicate this issue in a new file. This appears to be an isolated case. If I copy/paste the walls into a new file, it works fine with wrapping at ends turned on.

Any suggestions?

Did you try the Join Geometry tool?

Yep, it doesn't allow it to be joined because it's showing it as already joined (notice the blue end grip of one wall is inside the other wall).

As I said, the wall join looks 100% correct if I turn off wrapping at ends.

This may sound ridiculous but I've found with earlier versions (I don't have much experience with 2011) if you pull the short wall back far enough so that it is separated from the long wall, then rejoined them again (with the extend command) that will clean up wall joins. Sometimes I will even toggle the disallow joins option and that seems to get it joined correctly. No guarantees that it will stay that way - for some reason occasionally it reverts back to it's previous state. But I know that it has worked for me before. I hope it works for you this time.
