View Full Version : 2011 Multileaders and Fields not playing well together

When I edit the text of a multileader containing a field. If the leader is set to "Underline top line" the underline moves to the bottom of the top line of text rather than in the middle of the space between the top and second line.
I can go back and edit the same multileader in 2010 and it will move the leader back where it is supposed to be.
This only appears to be an issue with multileader text containing fields.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Well for those that haven't experienced this issue yet. If you are using MLeaders and Fields you probably soon will be.
Here is the final response from my Support Ticket.
----------
Our development team is aware of this issue when placing a field in an mleader with the Underline Top Line option for mtext. They are currently examining a solution for a future update.
This particular problem occurred when a correction for line spacing when mtext was the only content was introduced that corrected an issue since AutoCAD 2009. That problem was fixed, but it disrupted the positioning when a field is inserted.
Sometimes a requested solution to a problem affects other behavior, so our development team needs to examine all possible effects of the proposed correction.
We apologize for the inconvenience. Your existing workaround will certainly work the best until a solution is available.

For those of you that want to know what my "existing workaround" for this is issue is....
I keep VanillaCAD 10 open on one monitor and VanillaCAD 11 open on my main monitor. Whenever I need to edit an MLeader with a Field in it I...
Close the drawing in 11.
Open the drawing in 10.
Fix the MLeader.
Close the drawing in 10.
Open the drawing in 11.
Sure hope they get this fixed with the first Service Pack.

if you are using true type font in 2010, you experience the same problem, I too have submitted this to autodesk and was told that it would be fixed in the future.

I believe we ran across that issue in 2010 as well. We just went back to using the SHX fonts since they worked correctly.
Now not even they work correctly when fields are involved.
