I have a floor supported by concrete walls connected by beams spanning in the same direction as the walls. What is the correct way to model the beam-wall join for export to robot for analysis. Does the beam (analytical and physical model) run over the full length of the wall, or should the physical model end at the wall face whilst the analytical model continues to the wall end/middle etc.?

I guess it depends on the analysis you are doing and the engineer doing it. Unless you are the engineer I would just ask them what they prefer and set it up according to their needs and analysis they are doing. If you are the engineer you know better then anyone your work methods.

As long as the analytical beam and wall model line up (though this is automatic) it should not make a difference.

Thanks a lot. Actually I'm the engineer but I'm now feeling my way around the program.

Great to hear, Engineers working in the program is always a good thing, I just wish more of them would do it.

Goodluck for the future :)

I hope the "good-for-all" program would be invented for modeler-engineer-drafter person (like me).

Revit is my hope.

Thanks m20 ... need all the luck I can get. No turning back
