wall patterns w/ studs & insulation

has anyone developed a wall cut pattern showing studs and insulation for a plan view? if so, has it been able to adjust with the size of the wall, or should a pattern be made for each wall thickness? thanks! ~sarah

I think that is the wrong way to it it, you need to use detail components and link them to your wall so any section will show the detail component...you can also make it parametric (ie: number of noggings etc changes per height of wall)...check out this tread

but that would require tons of linework for each wall, correct? and i'm looking for something more automatic. if there were a fill pattern showing studs and insulation to be used as the cut pattern of the structure layer of a wall, that would display correctly everywhere. that's more what i'm looking for. if no one has done this yet, i will likely do it and post the .pat on this thread later.

What I would like, is the ability to define in the Wall Properties, repeating detail components. I would like to be able to 'preview' the wall plan view in the Wall Props, and 'sketch' the correct repeating detail component into the wall type. Then we should have the ability to set whether that detail component shows at coarse, medium, or fine Visibility settings.
