Method for Displaying Views

I am fairly new to Revit, I am wondering if there is a better way of adding views. When I add a section detail view it shows up in other views. Am I not doing something right?

When you add a section view to a plan, it should essentially go to other level's and elevations that it crosses. Unless you hide that section in that view or hide sections in certian views.
