hi,
i'm trying to place a strip footing beneath a wall. for constructibility, i'm offsetting one footing to create a continuous face. i introduce an eccentricity for this effect. however, the footing tying into it extends beyond what i desire (as if the offset footing was centered - see attached image). is this a internal code issue of revit? is there a reasonable fix?
thanx in advance,
karl

You should be able to select the footing and move it with points.
However I would never use wall foundation tool and it is banned in our office. Use beams they work much better and don't have to just be connected for a wall. If you need analytical capabilities disable the beam analytical objects and create and inlace family of analytical lines. Solves all issues.
This is the most useless feature In structure, the other bad part is the foundation is broken in the metric template autoddesk supplies, if actually dimensions different to the properties, if you create a new type however it does resolve itself.
My hint is never use this tool ever!!

We use the strip footing tool as it is. To do what you want, split the wall where you need the footing to stop. It doesn't appear possible to have the footing *not* below the wall you host it too. This also makes eccentricity an issue for us a couple times.
Also, instead of using Beams - we made a "strip" footing from the isolated foundation family. We have the thickness and width as type parameters and the length as an instance parameter so we just place it and drag. Also helps because our view filters can use appropriate families more easily.
