I can't globally set the address of the Revit keynote file from what I've been trying (and succeeding at failure). Maybe I'm missing something. It's happened before.

Exactly - for EVERY SINGLE FILE THAT I OPEN I HAVE TO RESET?

So it's not keeping the path setting when you close/reopen?

(your 1st post did not say that.)

Thought you were asking how to set it.

In the image posted by Cliff, watch the three radio buttons under "Type path". That makes a difference. If your keynote file is in ".../Metric Library/" or ".../Imperial Library/" and this option is set to "At library locations", there should NOT be any problems.

I tried the "At Library Locations" first, made sense to me. But, I still have to browse to the location for each existing - with keynote unspecified - and new detail. I thought it might be simply saving & restarting Rvt, but no dice.

Could this be an added line in the Revit.ini file?

That's very strange. If the file is in the root folder of the library, and the setting is "At library locations" you should not have to have to browse for the file, ever. I am sure you already double checked, but can you 'triple' check? :) The only thing I could add is: check the "Places" list in the "File locations tab" under "Options" (Big R > Options).

All right - time to confess. I had the keynote file in MY library (still - in the file locations list & ID'd as my library). So I moved it back to the central lib location & seems to be OK. I'd still like to have control over where it goes.

You can keep it in your custom library, then in the Keynote settings, set "Type path" to "Absolute" and use the Browse button to specify the name and path of your keynote file in your library.

Not to hijack this thread, but when it comes to keynotes, are you using one file for all projects, or a project specific keynote file?
