How can I set up a keyboard shortcut to open the view range dialog. I use it all of the time and I don't want to have to go through the View Properties. Thanks.

This is something I've been wanting for quite a while also. Thus far I haven't found a way to make it work. In the KS editor View Range is listed as being on the Contextual Tabs>Region. Unfortunately it only works for Plan Regions and not actual floor plans.

With 2011 this is a non-issue for me. I have my properties palette docked on the right side of the screen, full-height, so the View Range button is always there, available with one click if nothing is selected.

don't you love when issues don't just get solved, they become irrelevant? :D

i put my PP and PB over on a second screen

I would do that, but I'm just so used to having the PB on the left side of the screen. Plus I'm still wary of moving the palette off screen because of issues I've heard of in the past. Oh well, my main display is 24" at 1980x1200 so I have plenty of space.

I have my PB and PP off the main screen as well and I haven't had any issues (that I know of!)

Actually, I'm running 3 monitors. Revit stretched across 2 and the PB and PP on the third. Works pretty damn well I must say. lol

Ive got the browser far left, and the Properties pallete right next to it, to the right of the browser. That way the type selector is right near the component buttons, etc.

hm maybe I should try that, it would feel like the pre-2010 interface with the tool palettes and PB both on the left :)

hmmm nah - screen feels too lopsided with everything on the left. I like the screen to be more "balanced" with views centered between each palette. :)

I said that too, for the first fifteen minutes. But after dragging my mouse across a 24" widescreen to get to the properties dialogue and type selector, i tried it a second time. I was way faster, and i dont even notice the lopsidedness anymore.

My display has the PP on the left, full height, and the PB as a floating window in the bottom left corner. I've also assigned a keyboard shortcut to the PB to minimize it quickly when I need maximum working area. Its lopsided, but everything important is visible and in the same vicinity.

It never occurred to me before to move the PB over to the right monitor. Because I sit sort of in the middle between the two with the PB on the left side of the right monitor it's basically right in front of me rather than way over to the left. With two 24" wide screens I always had plenty of room for it on the primary monitor but now it's a lot easier to see!
