What's the best way to model the tapered joists and web stiffeners?
In Revit Architecture 2011 or in Structure 2011?

It depends:
1. What is the end result going to be? Fully detailed Struct. dwgs, or shop dwgs to be
produced from the model, etc?
2. Who's scope of work does the structural design fall into? Arch or (most likely) Struct.
3. Are they exposed to view, so that aesthetics/design comes into play? If so then the Arch. should establish intent with a basic model, which would be replaced by a "real"
RS model.
That said, it could be done in either software, depending on the above expected outcomes.
If it was my project I'd have the struct. eng. model them and then link into RAC.

It's for 3d coordination in Navis. Nobody's willing to do the 3d work of the roof framing design. I'm asked to do so that we'll see whether there's going to be conflict between the MEP and structural members.

Who is requesting the Navisworks clash detection?
The Owner? If so--then contracts may need to be ammended to cover scope.
The GC? Then, if Owner is not willing to pay fee to A/E team, the GC models it from scratch.
cheers
