Hello,

I have a user running Revit 2009, when he tries to open up a Revit file, both his monitors go blank and his computer is unresponsive. This just started happening.
It could be any Revit file.

Has anyone ran into this issue? Sorry if I posted in the wrong place.

Thanks,

Jay

Does it happen with any other apps or only Revit?

If absolutely nothing significant has changed with the computer setup (including installed drivers) since this started happening, it sounds like hardware failure - probably either RAM or the video card.

It's fairly easy to test the RAM using an app like memtest86 (free download).

Sometimes it takes a hardware resource hungry app like Revit to access the area where the issue is in the hardware.

Does it happen immediately every time?

Does it happen if you start a new project using the default template?

Have you tried disabling Graphics Hardware Acceleration before opening a file?

Thanks for the input..No I haven't tried diabling Hardware Acceleration yet.

I reinstalled the latest driver, and it's been happening for the past few days on any file.

And this only happens with Revit.

I'll try the mem test and the Hardware Acceleration.

Nothing major has changed. He had some issues with his sound driver, so I just installed the newer one. He says started happening after that, but that's just audio.

Thanks again!
