Layer/ Custom linetype issue

I am having some issues with a layer that is not allowing one of the guys in my office to edit it in any way, ie. freezing, thawing, turning on/off, etc. The layer uses a custom linetype but that doesn't seem to be the issue. Me and the other guy in our office (there are three of us) have no problems altering the layer on our machines, its just the one. Anyone have any ideas?

If the layer's name contains spaces or other "strange" characters, or if the name exceeds 31 characters he might have ExtNames=0. Try changing it to 1. (You can do this through Options / System / Allow long symbol names).

On second thought, this variable is saved in the DWG so it should either happen on all PC's or none. Unless he's got some auto-running code which sets it each time he opens the DWG.
