I need your help everyone.
What is the best way to add eave rafter tails to your model. I know most of you sketch it in your sections which is the easiest to do but our office standard is to show the eave design on our ceiling plans (Beams, T&G, etc...) . My current project has foe beams that would attach to the bottom side of my roof but end at the wall....I'm clueless on where to start. Also, the beams will be at 45 degree angle at hip locations (see image).

Use a faced based generic family. You can then stick this on the underside of the roof.
You will see a faced based family in the template list when you create a new family. You can change its catagory later if you want to schedule it differently.

You could also make a custom brace family (structural Framing - Beams and Braces.rft) and use 3d snapping to place. In either case, there will be some custom family creation that you will need to do.

There was also somewhere on AUGI, this same thing, where someone used a Railing, with a Balustrade Post shaped like the rafter
