Phasing Question – Phasing Properties not available!
Hi there.
I am wanting to quickly change the phasing properties of all the Model Categories in my model! However, when I select everything the Phasing option is not available (see attached image) What would cause this? Are there certain model categories who’s Phasing cannot be changed, possibly I need to filter these categories!
Thanks,
Craig

Hi Craig,
I don't believe that Revit will let you do what you wish to do - (it never has for me :-) ) I guess with lots of different categories and multiple elements its just way too much number crunching.
I would filter the different categories and change each set of similar elements. Bit of a PIA I know but probably 20 or 30 minutes should sort it out.
Cheers,
Ian

What I've done in the past is if you forget change the phase to existing on a renovation project and it gets modeled as New Construction just delete the Existing phase. Rename New Construction to Existing. Now add a new phase after Existing called New Construction.
Might help?

Thanks for your responses!
Must say that I am fairly disappointed that I cannot just select everything in my model and change its phase.
Thanks for the suggestions.

You can. You just have to filter out all items that don't have a phase parameter, i.e. reference planes, dimensions, tags, rooms, etc.

Also things like curtain wall grids and mullions can't be changed separately from the host wall, so you have to filter those out, as well.

And you have to filter out Rectangular Openings.
