What is the best way to model "public space" components in Revit?
I am seasoned Revit user, and recently i won a project that requires me to design just one building, but a huge public space to go with it.

I've never done this before. What is the best way to go about doing this in revit.
I will need, bicycle lanes, pedestrian regions, lots of components (trash bins, fences, some bicycle parking) and a lot more.... you name it.

Does anyone have any experience with this kind of project? I an envision everything as repeating details or repeating families of some sort, with model hatches to go with them.

I don't want to use Autocad as a fallback mechanism, going back to lines after dealing with objects is a HUGE headache.

Please provide a detailed description of your workflow, if you can.

Thank you!

Ouch. You've hit upon the great "site issues of Revit". Contrats on the winning project. I'm envisioning undulating site surfaces, which I would start with a solids modeling and then split that, and apply a floor surface for the bike lanes etc. I remember a loft program available years ago to Acad, where you would draw a 2d plan, then placing the plan over a 3d developed site (say contours only), would directly place these lines on the 3d surface, where the surface could then be split perfectly to reflect the concept. Very, very easy (hint hint factory). Also another easy Acad program was Easysite, I think out of Colorado that was fairly reasonable. Would be interested to know your final approach. You probably can get most of the object families from www.revitcity.com. or perhaps searching www.aecdaily.com

If you can absorb the $1000 into the project, this may be very helpful:

Saw that in an add here... still it's more about planting and as far as i can tell they don't have somekind of demo version i can test.
