Instead of a single overall scale it would be nice to have two separate X and Y scales for hatch patterns. This would allow a user to give the correct appearance when hatching on a sloped surface.

An architectural application of this could be the y scale setting for a shingle pattern on a roof could vary in proportion to the slope of the roof. This would give a drawing the correct appearance especially when varying slopes are used on one roof.

Adding X and Y shear as well as X and Y scale would complete the set of controls necessary to hatch slopes in oblique elevation.

There are commercial packages that can scale ,skew, translate and rotate hatch pattern definitions to suit oblique elevations, but it would be more direct to have the controls available at the time the hatch is applied to the drawing, rather than when the hatch pattern definition is created.
