importing dwg - not visible in plan

I've imported a DWG to my 1st floor plan and it seems to work fine. Than i imported another DWG to the 2nd floor plan and now i can't see this one. It seems that all of my visibility settings are correct, at least i think so, and my work plane is set to the 2nd floor. i can't see the export in the plan but if i go to the 3d view i can see it. also if i go to the roof and chose to see an overlay below, i can see it there as well. How do i get it to show at the second floor level?

Try a wireframe view, & see if it shows up. If you have a floor modeled on the second floor, it might be masking it in a hidden line view.

oops...i found it. it came in on a different layer than i thought it would.
