We are linking in our structural engineer's revit model (naturally), and have the following issue:

Since they are carrying certain walls in their model (shear walls, for instance), when we link their model, we categorically hide their walls (V/G overrides/revit links). Unfortunately, this also hides the walls they have built for the foundations (using "basic walls" in Revit Structure)

What is the least hassel-y solution so that we can categorically hide above grade/slab/finished floor structural model walls, and leave visible below grade/slab structural model walls?

Ask structural to draw the duplicate walls on a specific workset and turn it off in your model. This works pretty well 2010, and even better in 2011.

Yeah that's what I would suggest to do also, is to put them on a workset you have turned off. They'll just have to make sure they specify the foundation walls to stay on a workset you keep loaded.

Once they do that follow these steps to quick have them off in every view.

Go to Manage Links
Do a Reload From for the Structural Link
Before hitting open click the little drop down area and choose specify
Click open
Turn off the workset which has all of the walls on it.
Hit ok and all your sections, plans, elevations, callouts, etc will be structural wall free.

Thanks! I will try that.
