Hi all.
Any ideas on how to achieve the attached railing as one single railing? So far I have only been able to achieve the desired effect using a series of separate railings!
Thanks,
Craig

I can only presume that you were having trouble with the corners. One solution is to create a newel post for the 90 degree condition and set it to corners

Okay so I have created a quick 'newel post' (corner post) (see attached) the issue is how does one get the railings between the two verticals of the post not to show?
Is the only way to achieve this to draw separate railings?

I imagine that those rails will need to be part of a panel. I have had a quick stab during my lunch break but it's out of the frying pan and into the fire!!! Spacing becomes a nightmare so you would probably need to sequence the whole railing. Hopefully someone else could give you a better answer. If not, change the categories to generic and nest them in a new family to build a custom family for the whole railing. I find that the railing tool is really useful...except for railngs!

Barrie thanks for your responses. I was actually also thinking that a panel would possibly be the route that I need to take to resolve my issue! Will give that a go and post my result...

Try going onto seek and look at some manufacturers. They might give you some ideas. Sometimes I use several railing type definitions and then inplace sweep for the handrail. It's still a tricky tool to use. You may consider using curtain walls for certain railing types.
The attachement shows the use of several railings to make one system. That may be the way to go

Thanks Barrie
I will give seek a go! Appreciate the stair example it has helped clear up a few questions!
