Hi,
Can anyone figure out why the attached file won't import into Revit 2009? It looks fine (no errors and purged) in AutoCAD 2007.
When I import this into Revit 2009 I get a "serous error".
Thanks,
Derek

While its not a mile away from the origin, it is roughly 930' from the origin to near the centrer of the drawing. That could be a factor. Also when I ran Purge there were still quite a few things left hanging around. If neither of those routes work you might try Wblock the drawing to a new file and import that new file.

Thanks. This file already is a copy-paste from a larger file (which didn't work either). I haven't tried the origin issue; I could check that. My copy of ADT 2007 didn't find anything to purge (at least in the larger file), so that's interesting to note. Thanks for taking a look at this.
I ended up having to bring the file into SketchUp and then Revit from that.

I had opened it using 2010 so that might be why I found stuff to purge but since you said that it was a copy/paste from another file that was purged it could be that also. Copy/paste can carry stuff along with it wereas using wblock blows away everything except the entities you select.
I'd be cautious about going from CAD to SketchUp to Revit, the most conversions the more junk is hanging around in the file which could cause problems. One other tip is that linking instead of importing can help keep your project much cleaner and running smoothly.
