Hello,
Please find the attached images. 1st image is of a single extruded roof ( using the spline) where I was trying to cut a small portion of the roof so that a part of the roof terminates at the wall that is set back. Unfornunately, I did not find the appropiate tool to do this? Is it possible to cut a portion from a roof?

In the second Image I created 2 roofs instead of 1 but in this case I am not able to join the two roofs and also can not get rid of the small gap between the roof ( as shown in the image). I have created the roof profile from the south elevation as in image 3.

Is there a better way to accomplish this in Revit 2010. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

Did you try a vertical roof opening tool? I use it extensively to alter a roof overhangs that otherwise are hard to obtain (sometimes Revit "thinks" too much...) or in situations like yours.
The opening doesn't need to be confined within the roof outline - it can go beyond roof, so what you really need to do is pick the roof vertical opening tool, pick the roof in question, draw the opening sketch in a plan view (I did it in 3-D to illustrate it better but in a plan is easier) (following the walls that "cut" into your roof) and close the loop (it can be done outside the roof). see pictures
