I often draw a line between 2 points and need to extend each end of the line by 1.5", making the line 3" longer overall. Is there a command to do this?

Snag the line by the middle grip, right-click-scale it, either by reference length or scale factor if you have the numbers handy.

You can also use LENGTHEN, DElta option, enter the "extra" length, and apply it to each line end.

How do you apply it to each end?
When I try it only one end is lengthened.
EDIT:
Never mind. I see that which ever end of the line you click on is lengthened.
I customized a button with [ lengthen DE 1-1/2" ] command.
It's pretty quick and works great. The only thing that would be better is a command that added 1-1/2" to each end in one click. I can live with this and it will save me a lot of time throughout the year.
Thanks :)

Are you still looking for a better way of making a line longer or shorter than the picked points?
