I set up a sheet file today w/ 2 viewports but somehow those 2 are linked. meaning if i am in one of them, changing the scale, they other viewports got changed as well. no matter which one i am in. never had this b4. is that a bug or some new feature of 2010?
many thanks

Check out the values of UCSVP and UCSFOLLOW for each viewport.
You will probably want UCSVP=1 and UCSFOLLOW=0.

Yep, usually this happens due to the way you rotate the view inside the VP. I'd suggest instead of changing the UCSFOLLOW and then rotating the UCS (which makes for the mistake of forgetting to change UCSFOLLOW back to 0) you should use the PLAN command instead.

There're other ways to rotate the view, which also don't need any UCS/UCSFOLLOW, but that's outside the scope of this thread.

... you should use the PLAN command instead ...

I second that.
