Can you do a callout from a section?

I did a callout and I checked "reference other view" and i only get drafting views or structural plan views, I don't get Sections

For clarification:

You're in a section view now, and you want to place a callout in the section view that references another section view. Is that correct?

Is the section view you're in now an actual Section view type, or is it a Detail view type?

I am in the plan view, the section I cut is showing the beam bearing on a wall. In another place I have a similar condition but instead of cutting the section and refer it to the original.
I want to do a callout and refer it to the original section. (I hope it makes sense). my boss does not want a section cut at this location he wants a callout. thus my dilemma.

I don't think you can reference a Section Cut when placing a Callout. You might just have to do a work-around.

If you go to the element properties of the section you have already cut and detailed, and change the System Family from a "Section View" to a "Detail View" (as per the attached image) you will then be able to reference that section using a callout.
