See the attached image.
This is an existing structure that we are adding new walls inside the building. I'd like all the edges of the new walls to be bold. Revit wants to 'merge' them with the existing as if they are one wall. Well they aren't. I also would like to transfer the existing openings to my new walls. To do that I use the join command and it works great. Sometimes Revit 'merges' the walls and I don't get the bold line, sometimes it doesn't merge them and is exactly as I'd like it. I just don't know how it's deciding what to do it.
Ok the image. Bottom left window, Red wall on left is bold on both sides (awesome!) and is joined with the existing wall (double awesome, all the way). Now look at that same wall in the right window, same deal. Now bottom left window look at the wall on the right hand side, its only bold on the one side. I'd really like the left hand side to be bold as well. Revit has 'merged' them. Now I have unjoined it in this screen shot. Look at the right wall in the right window. Its bold there! Exactly as I'd like it. The dashed line on the right window is where my cut plan exists.
Its just weird that Revit merges the right wall in my plan view but not in my section view. Grr... <shakes fist>
Thoughts? Btw... this is 2010 I haven't loaded it into 2011 to see if its magically fixed there.
