Why is my Void not working?

I have a curved extrusion that I need to put a slot in. I tried to create a rectangular Void extrusion and it doesn't seem to be working correctly. Can someone take a look and advise me what I may be doing wrong. Thanks.

What exactly are you wanting it to look like?
I was able to place a rectangular void through that curved extrusion just fine!?

If your looking at the Front View I need to have a slot that is .04"Wx16"H on the extrusion that appears White in color. It should be centered on the extrusion.

I am able to create the Void but it doesn't appear to be behaving the way it is intended.
