There used to be a couple settings in the PDF driver to tell it not to ask for a new file name for each sheet. I can't seem to find them anymore but its not giving me problems on my machine. I'll keep digging later and hopefully post were to find these settings.

If needed, I take the printer off line.

Sorry, I missed the PDF part. Today is like a Monday for me.

Ctrl-Shift-Esc to bring up task manager, go to Processes tab, right-click on your pdf printer, select "End Process". That should kill it.

usually you can hit the cancel button onthe bottom of the revit window and it will cancel the print. The cancel on the file window is just for that individual pdf.

So will cancel at the bottom. If you tell it make a PDF for each sheet, each sheet is its own print job.

as goes for the "kill process" option. you only kill one sheet, after that the next sheets generates a new process.
if you didn't save your work prior to printing the only solutions is:
get a coffee, kick back, fire up YouTube or something and enjoy the ride... (o, and hit Cancel from time to time)

lol funny stuff y'all.
I know where that PDF setting is but I WANT it to ask me for the file name 99.94% of the time. So yeah I need to leave it that way.

FYI.
ALWAYS SAVE before you print.

Yeah I know, I usually do since I've had print-related crashes before.

Press "Esc" really fast until Revit reads that you want to cancel that action.
It works for my version of Revit. I hope it works for your version.

Right-click on the Adobe Printer in Devices and Printers (Control Panel) > Printing Preferences > Adobe PDF Settings tab > select the option in the combo box Adobe PDF Output folder / Browse to folder.
Here is the Windows Registry
The (default) leaf is set to 1 (prompt for File Name)
Change it to the index for the desired value. I changed it to c:\AdobePDF, which is the third leaf - therefore the (default) would be set to 3.

In Revit 2016 R2 (subscription only):

Avoid lengthy or unintended print jobs. If you choose to print multiple views and sheets to individual PDF files, you cannot cancel the print job once it starts. A new message warns you of this issue and allows you to cancel the print job before it starts. Instead, consider printing the views and sheets to a single PDF file. See Troubleshooting: Printing Views and Sheets.
