Overlapping Pads In Separate Phases

I take it that this is not possible

I have 2 topo surface in my model one past, one future.

the past topo is demolished before the futre topo is constructed yet when i try to put a slightly larger pad over the area where the smaller pad once existed, I get an error message.

has anybod had experience working around this problem? I'd appreciate any advice or solutions. thanks - csdg

Ugh...according to the support request I made on 1/5/2007 this is a known issue and is still PENDING. Basically, pads don't abide by common phasing rules. My only work around suggestion would be to consider Design Options (basically duplicate the original topo with the pad) OR use separate RVT links. Not ideal.

I try to avoid pads on the existing topo if at all possible for this very reason. If you have an existing building, try to set topo points equal to the bottom of your slab in various places instead of using a pad. Then on the new graded region, use pads where needed.
