I know this topic have come and gone but can someone please explain to me why grids and tags cannot be crop like the other object/family... and what is the best work around on how to achieve a crop area of a building with the grids crop....??? Please help..... :cry:

Keep the original view and duplicate it without detailing.

Working on the duplicate view, crop it adjust the grid ends to where you need them. This will not effect the original view.

You will then need to copy and paste aligned, the text notes from the original view that will only be visible in the cropped view. You can set up new room tags in that view also.

that going to be alot of work if you have 25 storeys with 64 grids running on every level.....

maybe Revit 6?

Maybe you don't need to keep the original views ? That would save time.

Even if you do, it doesn't take all that long. Takes longer to explain it.

With a high rise, you probably have a lot of text that repeats level to level ? Have you looked into noteblocks ?

I just had a look at the sample hotel revit file and when i adjust the crop border the grid automatically adjust itself....can anyone tell me how this was done????

don't worry....I work it out with the hotel...they use a scope box....
