I have a couple of MEP files linked into my building file, and on my site utility plan I'd like to show only the stuff out on the site in the MEP files. Right now, though, everything in their files are showing in the site utility plan.

They are using worksets, but they have most everything lumped together into one workset.

I know I can turn off individual elements in links by tab-selecting and hiding in view, but I can't window-select individual elements in linked files.

So short of asking the engineers to separate out site and interior stuff on separate worksets, is there any other somewhat easy way I can get the interior MEP elements to go away on my site plans?

The problem is that there are both interior and exterior elements on the same category. For instance I need to show the transformer and generator from the electrical file, but those are electrical fixtures, so all the interior electrical fixtures are showing as well.

At this point I would just put a masking region over the building interior (none of my stuff is showing) but I also need the view to be wireframe to see everything in the site.

I don't see how short of having them seperate them into worsets..... I would ask.
