Adjusting beams

I'm updating a plan with several beams. I'm having trouble controlling the end and the offset. Is there a way to drag the beam without worrying about the end elevation. Thanks.

If you initially drew the beam with 3D snapping turned on, and you go to drag that beam and it intersects with another beam at a different elevation, it will read that beam’s elevation (changing your start and end offsets.). You can always try to use the Trim/extend multiple elements command and trim/extend to a non-beam location.
