saving door schedule to template

After creating a custom door schedule how to you save it to your template file to avoid having to re-create it again? Using Revit 2009

guess I was a bit premature. I took a little more time to figure it out. The answer is to open your template, select file> insert from file> view. Then select the door schedule view from the project you created it in.

Or:

open project with Schedule on a sheet. Highlight Schedule. Copy to Clipboard.
Open Template, Paste onto a Sheet.

The key is the copy-paste has to be from a sheet to a sheet.
