We have linked in the architects model into the structural model and did copy/monitor on the structural walls. We deleted one of the walls in the structural model because the architects model was all screwed up. When we received a corrected model, we were unable to copy the wall again. A message says the wall is already being monitored. Is there a way to break that monitor link so we can copy the wall back in? Thanks.

I can't seem to replicate this with a simple 4 wall model but you could attempt doing a Coordination Review and see if you can clear out the monitoring of the deleted wall that way.

This is one of the problems with 2-way (bi-directional) linking of your models.
If you want to delete an element, ensure that you FIRST select "stop monitoring" if you click on an object that is copy/monitored, you will see this icon appear in your ribbon. If you simply delete this object without first stopping the monitor, it retains the ID.

The best way to solve this, is to note down the element ID number it is reporting.
Have your architect, when he does his co-ordination review, decline the changes to this element by ID number.
Once he does that, you get his model, and do a co-ordination review.
Find this element ID number in the review, as it will report that there has been changes to it. Click "do not accept changes" and the wall should re-appear for you.
Then you can select it, and remove it, first ensuring that you stop monitoring it.

Also you could take one step out of that process by having the architect delete the wall, which should remove it from your model once you accept his changes.

If you are linking models ALWAYS make sure that you stop monitoring before you delete or you will have these problems!

Thanks! I will try that out on Monday. I'm not sure if at this point we even know the id #, but will give it a shot.
