Wont let me edit Modify Subcategories.

Hi.

I need to edit the Subcategories of the following family (Attached) yet the option to Modify Subcategories is greyed out. Any ideas what I need to do to activate this option?

Did you read your HELP on sub-categories? I believe you can only create them at the family level. You can modify them in the project but what you show are category - not sub-category items

I was under the impression that the attached was 'at a family level', a 'Post Family'! Yes, just checked its definalty a Post Family!

I am guessing this is a baluster or baluster-post family. If that is the case, you cannot modify the subcategories. You will have to change to some other family type (generic model.) However, doing so will make this family unusable in a railing system as a baluster/post. You will have to place it manually.

Yes its a baluster-post family!

Create your object as a generic model then insert it in the baluster family...

You will be able to control the visibility of your object under Generic Models after that...
