I need to configure a few workstations for running Revit Architecture 2011+. Contemplating on ordering vs. building. What are you all using? I would like to go with a high performance system that will run Revit smoothly. My projects vary from residential to high-rise. What processor, video card and amount of memory should I be running? I'll be running Windows 7 Professional for sure.
Do I need Multi-CPU\Multi-Core Xeons? or is that overkill? Would like some input on selecting components.
Thanks!

I was told by a upper Autodesk Revit official that i7 with 8 to 12 gigs of ram (1333 megahertz) and a Nivda Quarto or ATI Radion 1 gig or higher video card is Revit 2011 preferred platform. and you can find these types of systems at Costco for around 1k with all the bells and whistles..... cant go wrong there! Every one will have there own opinion but cheap and good is the way to go! But If you want hard core power try BOX technologies but it will cost you bucks! I think they have systems with 6 or 12 core xenon sick power. Great for rendering but they run around 5k.

Really those $1K systems will run Revit? I have a 40 story high-rise I need to model, document and render.. you think that will do the job with a Costco system? Thanks for the input!
