View Full Version : Inserting 3D views
Someone deleted a floorplan view from our model... We have backup models with the view still in them. Is there a way to get the view back from a linked revit file? Or to copy a view from one mode to the other. We have a huge submission this week...

You can easily make a new floor plan view, the tirck is getting the annotations back. You can go to the older project, and make a Group out of the annotations, and then save the Group as an RVT file. then insert the Group into the new project and place it on top of the floor plan, then ungroup it.

Will Paste Aligned Same Place work for clipboard elements between projects? I'm thinking they do. If not, it would be fairly easy to just eyeball it. Dimensions are another story, though. I think Paste Aligned Same Place or Paste Aligned Current View will work for dimensions, though, especially for two versions of the same project, with the dimensions going to the same elements in both projects.
Shouldn't be too difficult.

Paste Aligned Same Place works great, as Patricks mentioned.
