View Full Version : Fast Way to Dash Transom Above?

In our project, we want to show the transoms in plan as "overhead" lines - they are currently above the cut plane of the plan.

These transoms have been created using the Curtain Wall tool.

The only way I know how to do this is to create a plan region so that the transom shows in the plan. Then I have to use the linework tool to change all the lines within the transom to the "overhead" line style. This is time consuming clicking all these lines - there are lots of transoms.

Can you change all lines within a curtainwall at once using the linework tool? Or could I edit the family (can't figure out how to even get into the family editor for this though) so that it the plan view has overhead lines?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Kelly

There are a couple of possibilities:

1. You can turn on an Underlay of the Reflected ceiling plan, then use the linework tool
to show the transoms as "overhead" or "hidden".

2. Another way could be to just show them in the Reflected Ceiling Plans.

3. You could create a horizontal "section" to make a "plan view" which cuts thru the transoms. Place a section vertically, then rotate the section mark so its horizontal.

4. Duplicate the view with detailing, then adjust the cut plane so it includes the transoms.

Just a few thoughts. Good luck!
