Folks,

I'm using Revit 2011.

I hope this is a simple question. I'm working on a residence that has sweeps made from profiles both loaded into the project from the Family Editor and By Sketch directly in the model.

I never saved any of the .rfa files for the profiles that I created in the Family Editor, I just didn't see the reason to since the profiles seem to be saved within the project just like any other family.

I can easily edit-in-place the profiles that I sketched by modifying the sweep, selecting the profile, and clicking on the Edit Profile button. But when I try the same process with profiles that I loaded from the Family Editor, the Edit Profile button is grayed out and I don't see any way to open the profile in the Family Editor.

What can I do to modify profile families that have been loaded into the project?

Thanks,
James West

From the project browser > Families > Profiles > Select the name of the profile family > Right click > Edit.

From the project browser > Families > Profiles > Select the name of the profile family > Right click > Edit.

Thank you. I *swore* I tried that yesterday, but I think I was probably trying to edit the Type, which of course you can't do. This works swell. Thanks!
