Hi, we are trying to link some CAD details into revit. We tried to use "import line weight DWG/DXF" to standardize the line weights based on CTB. But what we realized is the CAD file (w/o exploding), all layer are default to be line weight 1. So, if we change the line weight 1, all lines changed accordingly, if we change others, they do not change.
We do not want to explode CAD, we are trying not to override each layer manually for every single CAD through object style or vv.
Is there better way to control this, so as long as the translation btw CAD line weight w/ Revit is set up, after we bring in the CAD, it will automatically show correctly?

thanks

Just curious if you are using the detail manager mentioned below?

I just checked the link, no, we are not.
It did not answer my answer, that video is so general

Yes it will show correctly, but the trick you seem to be missing (and I did also for a bit) is that you have to tell Revit I want you to use the conversion table...

so your basic process will be open up the AutoCAD file and wblock out the detail you want. Open up the wblocked AutoCAD detail and clean up. Purge and save...

Open up Revit. Setup the 'AutoCAD to Revit' conversion table. Create a new detail view. link in the AutoCAD detail and before you hit OK make sure you say use the 'Black and White' lines option... This will tell Revit use the conversion table I set current. Look at the linked file and open up the AutoCAD file and make some decisions about what you want to do to make it look correct as some things will look... Odd.. and such
