Lock an arc?

In any particular sketch mode, I know how to align and lock a line, but I have read in different threads to lock an arc or arched line. How do you do this? I would like to lock an arc in a window I am creating. Thanks.

In a family, you would place a radial dimension in edit sketch mode, and set that as a parameter.

For Detail Lines, you can lock the end by selecting the temporary arc angle dimension and making it permanent and locking it. You can't lock the radial dimension for some reason.

You can also lock the arc ends to reference planes.
