Elevation Marks

I'm trying to show the indicator for the elevation marks. The views exist, but when I check a box by the direction, it created a new elevation. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Click elevation tool to put in a new elevation marker, before placing the elevation marker, look at the options bar and check reference other view and select the view in the pulldown and then place your marker on the sheet.

another thing to try and diagnos this is to open the elevation view for the missing anotation, and then the view that you think it's referencing from.

hit "WT" to open both views on your screen, then click on the crop box for the elevation.
if the elevation was created on the view you are looking at, the crop box will appear on that view while you have it selected in the other view.
