Is there a way that you can create customized toolbars in REVIT like you use to be able to in autoCAD. So that I can click a button and it would insert a speical equipment family and then tag it automatically?

You can tear off tool bars from the ribbon, but no, there is no customization of the tool bars themselves. Most people see this as a plus because you can use Revit on any machine and the UI is always the same.

I've heard this argument before - essentially it means using customization to make something you do a thousand times a day is bad because it makes something you do once a month take longer.
