Ok so we have a site that gently slopes, we want to do a 150mm concrete hardstand overlay on it at the same gradient. What will be the easiest way to have the "floor" to be the same as the toposurface?

One way would be to use a subregion and assign a concrete material to it.

If the toposurface is a very consistent slope, then you could use a Floor with either
a slope arrow, with elevations specified at the head and tail of the arrow, or edit the floor with points.

Another possibility is to use a Pad with slope arrows--however this will cut the toposurface.

cheers

The problem is that I need to show a concrete thickness of 150mm in section, so subregions wont work.

put some model lines in for the extent of where you want your slab layout.
take some spot levels directly off your topo surface and label them in a working plan view.
draw in a slab, add points and modify the points to match your topo surface levels.
set the slab to be 150mm thick, and set it as "variable" under edit structure.
That ought to get it done for you.

Thanks, thats what i thought. Just a question...what will the "variable" selected change in the structure of the slab?

Don't turn on the Variable checkbox. That keeps the bottom of the floor at a consistent elevation while the top slopes. You would want this for depressed areas of a slab (like for floor drains, etc.) but for a sloping slab on a site, you would want the thickness to stay consistent. So leave the Variable option turned off.
