We have a project that is divided up into two Revit 2011 project files. Project A is the one that contains all of the sheets. So we have views in Project A where all of the model information is in Project B. There is a Level difference of 2'-0" between the two models. We noticed in some of the 1/4" scale callout views we were seeing wall centerlines and could not figure out how to turn them off. It was only occuring in views of Project B information and only on walls that had a Structural usage setting of "Bearing". Those that had a setting of "Non-bearing" did not display the wall centerline. See attached image.

We originally had the View Range settings set to the default values of 4'-0" cut plane and 0'-0" depth. Some model lines of 2D plumbing fixture families were not displaying, so we lowered the view depth to -2'-0". We also noticed that some of the partial height walls weren't displaying correctly so we started playing with the cut plane value. As we were tweaking this we noticed if the cut plane value was exactly 2'-6" the wall centerlines disappeared.

Anyone have any ideas why linked walls would display in this manner?

I doubt they ware "wall center lines" but probably analytical lines. In the VG, check the box "Show categories from all disciplines" and turn off Analytical model under walls.

In VG, go to Linked view, Custom and see if Analytical Model is turned on--
if so turn it off and the centerlines should not display on the bearing walls.

cheers

Right after I posted I noticed some of the lines were not located in the center of the wall, so I figured it must be something else. It's odd that we only see it on linked walls. It's also odd that a certain cut plane setting makes the lines disappear. It's also odd that we have to activate a non-architectural display sub-category in order to control this in Revit Architectural. I'd call that a bug, even if it is a minor, easily rectified, bug.

Thanks for the speedy help!
