Q about keynoting linked model

we are doing renovation for a complicate project. So we have an existing model and a new model. We would like to have all sheets in one model, so my demo sheets are in the new model. since I cannot keynote elements through linked model, I keynoted everything in existing and then by customizing the display, using linked view, I can get all the keynote shown. Ok, so the question is how should I deal w/ the legend? Anyway to work around? Should I have all the demo sheets in the existing model? I do not prefer to do this cause even on the new sections, we still want to tag some existing elements to be more clear.

So, how are you guys doing this????
