Out of the box, Revit Families has the insertion point at center/center and the reference planes pinned.

1. Do you change the insertion point when you create a new parametric Revit Family? What is the advantages and disadvantages of changing or not changing the insertion point from center/center? Assume that your family may or may not flex in the future.

2. Are you keeping the insertion point consistant throughout your Revit family library or do different families have different inserttion point? Please elaborate your answer.

Thanks,
Bimmer

Typically I change the Insertion point. Don't get me wrong - I still keep the "Centre.." Reference Planes, but move the Insertion point to a more friendly place. a Corner Workstation would ideally have the insertion point in the corner
